BET Awards: Music, Fashion & Celebration

The 2026 BET Awards brought together the biggest names in music, film, and entertainment for a night filled with performances, emotional speeches, and wins. Hosted by comedian Druski, the annual celebration took place at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, honoring the artists and creators of Black culture today.

Teyana Taylor was the evening’s biggest winner, taking home four awards, including the inaugural Icon of the Year Award, Fashion Vanguard Award, Best Actress, and Video Director of the Year for Escape Room. One of the night’s most emotional moments came when Janet Jackson surprised Taylor by presenting her with the Icon of the Year Award. Fighting back tears, Taylor thanked Jackson one of her lifelong inspirations and reflected on her two-decade career. “I worked my ass off 20 years for this,” Taylor said during her heartfelt acceptance speech.

Kehlani delivered a beautiful performance of “Folded,” joined by a surprise appearance from Jamie Foxx, who accompanied her on piano alongside his daughter, Anelise, on guitar. The emotional collaboration quickly became one of the night’s most talked-about moments. Kehlani also took home Best Female R&B/Pop Artist. Other winners of the night included Cardi B for Best Female Hip-Hop Artist, Leon Thomas for Best Male R&B/Pop Artist, Doechii & SZA for the BET Her Award, and Clipse for Album of the Year (Let God Sort Em Out). The ceremony also honored music legend Lauryn Hill with the Living Legend Icon Award, while Sylvia Rhone received the BET Ultimate Icon Award for her decades-long impact on the industry. From fashion moments to performances and emotional tributes, the 2026 BET Awards delivered a night that celebrated Black excellence across music, film, television, and culture.
