The Stars Shine at the Academy Museum Gala

Hollywood’s biggest names gathered in Los Angeles on October 17 for the 2026 Academy Museum Gala, with Kim Kardashian, Kendall Jenner, Taylor Swift and Teyana Taylor turning heads on the red carpet. From vintage Balenciaga to Schiaparelli haute couture, the evening featured some memorable fashion moments.

Kim Kardashian wore a 1951 Balenciaga gown styled by Law Roach. The strapless dress featured ivory lace, a soft pink sash and an oversized bow at the back. Sourced from vintage fashion house Lily et Cie, the gown brought old Hollywood glamour to the red carpet. Kardashian completed the look with a voluminous bouffant hairstyle, a 55.8-carat diamond necklace by Leviev and diamond earrings by Zydo Italy.

Kendall Jenner wore a custom Valentino gown covered in polka dots. The black-and-white dress featured smaller dots on the bodice and larger sequinned dots on the skirt. She finished the look with matching heels, giving the classic print a fresh update.

Taylor Swift stepped onto the Academy Museum Gala red carpet in a custom ice-blue Dior gown designed by Jonathan Anderson. The pleated silk dress featured an embroidered bow at the centre, while Chopard diamond jewellery a.dded sparkle. With her retro waves and soft makeup, Swift embraced a romantic look.

Teyana Taylor wore Schiaparelli haute couture, featuring a turquoise breastplate paired with a sheer skirt. The unusual combination gave her look a dramatic feel and made it one of the evening’s more daring fashion choices.

The annual Academy Museum Gala raises funds for the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures, supporting its exhibitions, educational programs and public film screenings. The October 17 event also honoured actress Charlize Theron, actor Colman Domingo and filmmaker John Carpenter for their contributions to cinema. This year’s gala raised more than $14 million for the museum.
