Oscars 2026: The Biggest Winners and Moments from Hollywood’s Biggest Night

The 2026 Oscars delivered a night of major wins and memorable performances in film. Leading the night was One Battle After Another, the biggest winner of the evening, taking home six awards including Best Picture and Best Director for Paul Thomas Anderson. Among the night’s most celebrated victories was Michael B. Jordan, who won Best Actor for his performance in Sinners. The film, directed by Ryan Coogler, was one of the year’s most anticipated projects and also earned Coogler the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay.

Best Actress went to Jessie Buckley for her performance in Hamnet, a role that received praise throughout the awards season. The supporting acting categories also delivered notable wins. Amy Madigan took home Best Supporting Actress, while One Battle After Another continued its strong run during the night. In addition to Best Picture and Best Director for Paul Thomas Anderson, the film also won Best Supporting Actor for Sean Penn, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Film Editing, and the first ever Oscar for Best Casting.

Behind the camera, Sinners also received recognition for its visuals. Cinematographer Autumn Durald Arkapaw won Best Cinematography, becoming the first woman to win the award in Academy Awards history. The ceremony also featured a powerful performance by legendary ballerina Misty Copeland, who took the stage alongside musicians Miles Caton and Shaboozey.
