1. Jason Bolden: Jason has a long list of high profile clients such as Gabrielle Union, Angelina Jolie, Nicole Kidman, Taraji P Henson, Justin Timberlake, Vanessa Hudgens, Steph Curry, Serena Williams & more. Jason’s styling techniques landed him a TV Show on Netflix called Styling Hollywood, also staring his husband Adair Curtis. In the series, fans can watch their favorite celebrities get styled & dressed for prestigious award shows. Jason Bolden is extremely talented but there were barriers for him to be able to style white celebrities. Not many black stylists are able to style all clients in Hollywod.. Recently, Jason was seen stylint Nicole Kidman and Angelina Jolie, proving that when it comes to styling, race should never be an issue. Jason Bolden also faced discrimination from luxury brands. As a result, he became a board member of the Black Beauty and Fashion Council, an organization that helps & supports black artists and creatives. Jason continues to pave the way for the next generation of stylists.
2. Kollin Carter: Kollin started his career working with Zendaya’s long time stylist Law Roach before Law’s decision to take a break from styling. Kollin ended up having his own list of clients that includes Naomi Campbell, Kelly Rowland, Ciara, Cardi B, Normani, Meg Thee Stallion, Teyana Taylor, just to name a few. He styled numerous magazine covers, music videos, luxury campaign advertisements and so much more. His quality of work his top tier and Kollin’s mission is to work with brands that align with his values & the values of his clients. He is cautiously aware of brands that are racially insensitive or are not dressing black actors & actresses.
3. Shiona Turini: Shiona is a powerhouse, dominating the fashion industry with clients such as Beyoncé, Issa Rae, Trace Ellis Ross, Jodie Turner Smith, Yvonne Orji, Solange Knowles and more. She was the costume designer on season 3 and 4 of HBO’s ‘Insecure’ and worked with numerous luxury brands such as Calvin Klein, Tiffany & Co, Versace and Christian Dior. Her most recent work was styling for Beyoncé’s Renaissance tour. Shiona has been in the entertainment, fashion and publishing industry for 15 years and was nominated for CDGA (Costume Designer Guild Awards) for her work on the film Queen & Slim. In addition to her iconic profile, she worked on Beyonce’s historic Formation music video and Solange’s Cranes in the Sky. Shiona worked as a fashion editor for Vogue, Cosmopolitan, and CR Fashion book.
4. KJ Moody: KJ is the creative manager at Beyonce’s Parkwood Entertainment and Beyonce’s personal stylist. The Renaissance is KJ’s first global tour. Some of the most memorable looks that Beyonce wore was styled by KJ and his team. His creative process involved making mood boards that pay an homage to each city that tour went to. He collaborated with numerous designers to create custom looks for Beyonce’s Renaissance, including David Koma, Brandon Blackwood, Dundas, Roberto Cavalli and more.
5. Zerina Akers: Zerina is a an expert in fashion and her clients include Quinta Brunson, Mary J Blige, Taraji P Henson, Beyonce, Meg Thee Stallion and more. Zerina Akers received critical acclaim for her phenomenal work in Beyonce’s visual album Black is King. She also launched Black Owned Everything, a business directory that showcases black creators and business owners from all over the world. The goal of this platform is to uplift designers and create a space where consumers can discover amazing concepts and unique designs. Zerina created over 70 looks for Black is King and worked with many independent Black designers that are featured on Black Owned Everything.
